Wise River
Hues of gold, green, and brown,
Shining there in Tinseltown.
A subtle smile, a tilted head,
A myriad of words unsaid.
Your smile is warm, genuine and true.
Though it may hide pain, hide pain there too.
No one really knows, really knows but you.
Would you share those thoughts, tell me would you?
Fluttering wings spiral all around,
In response to your husky sound.
When you speak, and sing too,
I only wish, only wish to know you.
What would you say, what would you do,
If you met someone, someone who knew?
There’s more behind the eyes we see.
They seem to stare, stare right through to me.
Behind your smile and shining eyes,
Do you think of all, all your different lives?
Your theory of life and what it means?
Questions burst, bursting at the seams?
Fluttering wings spiral all around,
In response to your husky sound.
When you speak, and sing too,
I only wish, only wish to know you.
The smile that fuels the brightest star,
It’s rays stream, reaching far.
Do you know the warmth, the warmth it brings?
Can you hear the song, the song that it sings?
A familiar tune to your soul,
And happiness it’s only goal.
To brighten up, to light and shine,
More valuable than the most aged wine.
Fluttering wings spiral all around,
In response to your husky sound.
When you speak, and sing too,
I only wish, only wish to know you.
